The Broadway production of Mary Poppins will welcome a new Mr. and Mrs. Banks beginning March 1. Megan Osterhaus joins the musical as Winifred and Karl Kenzler will play George, replacing original cast member Rebecca Luker and Jeff Binder, who played their final performance on February 28. Mary Poppins continues its run at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Kenzler and Osterhaus reprise the roles they originated in the North American touring production. He has appeared on Broadway in Twelve Angry Men, The Caretaker and Dinner at Eight and off-Broadway in The Tempest, Hamlet, Spinning Into Butter, The Charity That Began at Home and his one-man show, Fire in the Head. Osterhaus returns to Broadway having appeared in the ensemble and understudied the roles of Mary and Winifred before joining the Mary Poppins tour. She made her Broadway debut as the understudy for Sophie in Mamma Mia!
Mary Poppins currently stars Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role and Christine Borle as Bert, with Valerie Boyle as Mrs. Brill, Ann Arvia as Bird Woman, Mark Price as Robertson Ay and Ruth Gottschall as Miss Andrew.
